SAP Discovery Day Romania 2024, one of the most important business events in the country dedicated to digital transformation, brought together around 400 participants at the Face Convention Center in Bucharest.
That organizations must adapt to dynamic markets to stay competitive is no longer news. At the same time, they are surrounded by increasing complexity in terms of the options available to them, which makes it difficult for them to decide what changes to make, especially when it comes to digital transformation.
With this in mind, SAP Romania focused at this year’s edition of its flagship event on the theme “The Butterfly Effect in Digital Transformation”, where it emphasized the importance of seemingly small decisions in digital transformation and the crucial role of partnerships in navigating technological complexity. Thus, approx. 400 industry experts, customers and partners gathered under the umbrella of SAP Discovery Day to explore the latest trends in digital transformation.
The butterfly effect in digital transformation
Building on the butterfly effect – that small changes can have a non-linear impact on a complex system – the theme of the event emphasized the idea that change can also be achieved gradually. These changes start with a single, seemingly insignificant decision that can lead to a major outcome and bring enormous benefits to an organization. That decision is to make the change. The moment an organization decides to change something, a whole spectrum of actions is set in motion that, over time, will contribute to a digitally ready and transformed company.
„When companies choose to make the shift to a particular technology, they may be leaving the management of a very high level of complexity to experts who have spent a lot of time developing, testing and understanding solutions. They understand how even the smallest decisions can impact the entire organization. Of course, it’s not easy when such a big responsibility is given to someone external. That’s why the moment an organization decides to take this step, it also decides to create a partnership. We at SAP are not just a software vendor. We are a business partner that supports organizations in running their business successfully”, said Diana David, Managing Director SAP Romania in the opening speech.
On stage, there were speeches by both local and regional experts, who tackled the butterfly effect in digital transformation and business in general from different angles. On stage were Paul Saunders, Head of Product Strategy S/4HANA and Chief Evangelist Cloud ERP, Dirk Häußermann, Chief Business Officer SAP Middle and Eastern Europe, Pavlos Panagiotidis, Global Head, BTP AI & Automation SAP, Aimen Dridi, Head of SAP AWS Austria & CEE, Daniel Furnică, Professional Services Director Red Point Software Solutions, Mihaela Rusu, Professional Services Manager Focality and Claudiu Rada, Customer Advisory Expert SAP Romania.
In addition, participants could learn more about the success stories of organizations such as Carpathian Springs, member of Valvis Holding Group, eMAG and GreenGroup. They also had the opportunity to explore the latest SAP technologies first-hand and understand how these solutions can be tailored to meet their business needs through interactive showcases and live demonstrations from experts.
